DEHUMIDIFIERS PRESERVE BUILDING FABRIC AND WELL-BEING

When rooms are too damp and wetness builds up for various reasons, the air humidity is raised to an unpleasant level. The ideal humidity value is 40 to 60 percent humidity, which corresponds to about eight grams of water per cubic metre of room air. A higher value not only endangers people, but also the interior and the building fabric and promotes mould.

WHO BENEFITS FROM A DEHUMIDIFIER AND WHERE ARE THE DEVICES USED?

Depending on the structural conditions and location, some rooms are more humid than others. Experience has shown that the air in cellars, bathrooms, garages, conservatories or washrooms is more humid due to ventilation, use or structural defects, which is why countermeasures must be taken. Heating and regular ventilation should be a matter of course. Sometimes these measures are not sufficient or practicable, which is why a dehumidifier provides a remedy.

However, you should bear in mind that in the case of structural defects that repeatedly lead to dampness, a dehumidifier can only counteract. In such cases, the cause remains. Mould growth and the associated health problems are particularly annoying. After heavy rain and flooding or for other reasons, emergency situations sometimes occur for a short time. Dehumidifiers are valuable helpers in the fight against dampness.

A final example for the use of dehumidifiers are museums and exhibitions with sensitive furniture, works of art and other objects. They are susceptible to wetness or basically to changes in the air in the room. Therefore, air purifiers, humidifiers or dehumidifiers are an excellent way to react quickly to the respective needs. Today, it is already possible to combine humidifiers and dehumidifiers to create a perfect, professional room climate.

HOW DO DEHUMIDIFIERS WORK?

Dehumidifiers are selected depending on the room size and their performance. They should be able to exchange the entire room air at regular intervals. This "circulation" of the air ideally takes place once or twice an hour. The dehumidifier draws in the room air and directs it into the interior of the dehumidifier.

The fan then directs the room air to the cold evaporator, where the water condenses and freezes. The evaporator is then defrosted under time or sensor control and the condensate drips into the collection container. The moisture is thus extracted from the air and can be discharged to the outside again. Depending on the model, the escaping air is also slightly heated due to the compressor waste heat. The water collection containers have a fill level measurement and the unit switches off automatically when the maximum fill level is reached. The unit can only be put back into operation after the water tank has been emptied. By using a condensate pump, the condensate can be discharged automatically and emptying the water tank is no longer necessary.

The basic principle is similar for all dehumidifiers and construction dryers. In order for the moisture to be removed optimally, the dehumidifier should be placed as centrally as possible in the room. The units are mobile and can be moved to the place of use. If a central position in the room is not practical, ensure that the distance to the nearest wall is as great as possible. Do not place large furniture in front of the unit so that the air can circulate well. The units require relatively little maintenance and only the dust filter needs to be cleaned regularly to ensure proper functioning.

DEHUMIDIFIERS AT BRUNE

Our mobile dehumidifiers have wheels and can be set up anywhere to save space. They can be easily moved within your home, company or in public areas and can therefore be used in a targeted manner.

They are excellent for regulating your rooms down to the desired level of humidity. In this way, you protect yourself, your health, sensitive furniture and goods or the valuable building fabric from damage. Electrical appliances and machines are also protected from rust, wear and tear or defects. The dehumidifiers are connected to the mains and run at 230 volts.

Depending on the design, they exchange the air in the room several times within a day. They have a dehumidification capacity of 10, 25 or 50 litres of water per day. Depending on the output, the fan operates at a low volume of between 39 and a maximum of 55 decibels.

Use the Dehumid 9 for rooms up to 200 m³. The HP 25 model achieves just under twice the output. Meanwhile, our powerful HP 50 achieves twice the output again compared to the HP 25. For higher demands or professional drying after water ingress, we recommend the use of a building dryer.

DEHUMIDIFIER MAINTENANCE AND CARE

Our smallest model has a 5.5 litre tank. The XXL model has room for two 10-litre tanks. You must ensure that the full tanks are emptied regularly so that operation continues as usual. Among other things, the units are active in dicey locations and can get dirty. To withstand adverse conditions, we have designed the dehumidifiers to be suitably robust and resistant. The units are not affected by dirt. You clean them after use with conventional cleaners.

However, the units are not suitable for operation in particularly polluted areas (e.g. with salt water or ammonia).

As with all technical equipment, maintenance must be continuous. Cleaning and check-ups are highly recommended. Check additional settings and adjust them to your needs. The dehumidifiers will then work automatically if the values you have set are exceeded or fallen short of. The air dryers are used in environments at temperatures between plus 0° (HP 50), 7° (HP25, DH9) and plus 35 degrees Celsius.
